Quick Jump
Legion Elementalist
[3.7] Winter Is Coming Elementalist (Easily Clear All Content)
- + Very fun and engaging build to play
- + Very fast pace build
- + Incredibly fast movement speed with phase run + quicksilver
- + Flame Dash with faster casting to jump gaps/cliffs
- + One of the best AOE clears in the game hands down
- + Able to do strong burst single target damage which shreds map bosses
- + Incredibly fun self crafting on tons of gear pieces
- + Can do almost all map mods
- + Able to do all content (all maps, uber atziri, all labs, shaper and guardians, uber elder)
- + Extremely high defensive capabilities
- + Immune to corrupting blood
- + Warlord's Mark on Hit
- + Aspect of the spider makes monsters covered in webs which looks sweet
- + Free Arcane Surge + Inpulsa explosion effect
- + Easy/Cheap to gear with room for lots of improvements as you get more currency
- - Ele Reflect maps are NOT possible
- - Physical Reflect maps are best to be avoided
- - Hexproff AND no regen on same map should be avoided.
- - Can be slightly laggy when you run into allies cannot die totem
- - Single Target dps is hard to maintain for anything with multiple phases
- - Not the best uber elder farmer, though can still be done decently
- - Can be decently expensive to fully min/max yourself for end game gear
When I look for 'Top Tier' in a build I have many requirements that must be met. I want a build that can clear ALL content (maps/shaper/lab/atziri/uber elder etc). It must be FUN and ENGAGING, not cost an extraordinary amount of currency, and have the ability to be a league starter with the ability to do all content later on as you upgrade and invest into your character. On top of this it must have fast movement or move skills and not have to worry about any weird issues that ruin builds for me (such as running out of mana, random one shots, not lacking in single target capability, etc etc.)
All in all finding a build that suits me and has all of these things can really be a tall order to fill. Luckily I have found yet another build that fits all of these criteria. Hope you all enjoy!

[3.7] Fast Storm Brand Leveling Guide League Starter HC/SC
Hello, thanks for checking out this complete leveling guide for Storm Brand Elementalist. The purpose of this guide is to help players such as yourself to get through A1-A10 in much quicker times, especially useful at a league start when those that get to maps first often profit the most.
The guide provides 'Gem Links and/or sockets' sections to let you know of what your ideal gem setup looks like and will be included everytime there has been a gem or link change. At the end of each act (and before Merciless Labyrinth) there is a 'Passive Tree' section which includes a link to the official Path of Exile Passive Tree Planner, the name of the tree in Path of Building, and a handy little image if you don't want to use either.

[3.7] POE Witch Herald Blade Vortex Elementalist
Pros
What Is Max Dmg In Poe 2017
- + Good clear speed
- + Good single target damage
- + Pretty tanky - 7-8k eHP
- + Fairly cheap to gear, not gated behind rare/expensive uniques. Good league starter, SSF is possible.
- + Scales exceptionally well in the end-game.
Cons
- - Blade vortex mechanics may feel clunky to some
- - Have to be in melee range to deal damage

[3.7] Vowel's Crit Storm Brand Elementalist - Flaskless Uber Elder
Pros
- + Super Fast
- + Very Tanky (enough to tank Shaper Slam)
- + Variety of ways to gear
- + Lots of ways to improve gear/build
- + Easy to start up on a budg
- + Very good Single Target DPS with Lightning Spire Trap
- + Excellent AoE DPS with Storm Brand
- + Brainless
- + Flexible
Cons
- - Storm Brand needs LS to help Single Target when not geared.
- - Lightning Spire Trap can sometimes not activate if a mob moves.
- - Not invincible
While this build is budget and friendly to play - gearing up requires knowledge of multiple facets in the game. I draw Mods from a variety of different content pools. My amulet is from Incursion, I use Shaper Boots and Gloves, and I use a Delve Metallic Fossil Helmet. If you don't know what these are consider researching them and how they function before proceeding.

Legion Necromancer
[3.7] SPECTRE SUMMONER Necromancer Build. BEST League Starter! + Video Guide!
Pros
- + safe across most content. Bosses offscreening.
- + extremely fast for map clearing
- + around 70% potential Phys Damage Reduction (Basalt, Taste of Hate, etc)
- + decent regen
- + flexible, can stack a lot of block chance if needed
- + great single target damage (around 3 million with Victario)
- + much better than Zombies as you don't need to constantly resummon spectres, also you don't care if Skeletons die. So you effectively are PAIN-FREE.
- + can go Energy Shield and 5-6 spectres too! POGCHAMP!
Cons
- - Not super high sustain as we are running Vis Mortis with no life on it (around 7K for Uber Elder).
- - Spectres are a pain to resummon if they die
What Is Max Dmg In Poe Mean
What are Spectres?
By using Spectres you are effectively summoning real monsters to fight for you. They will use all attacks and spells they naturally have. As well as will become stonger with level.
In order to summon a desired monster you need a corpse of this monster, target a corpse with 'A' and press Summon Spectre.
Spectres scale with a level of the 'corpse' they were summoned from, so in order to get powerful spectres you will have to summon/resummon them in a higher and higher level zones using Desecrate skill to recreate their corpses. I explained everything in the FAQ section below how to do it.
So.
You will summon 4 strong Spectres who will obliterate screens and screens around, while you zoom across the screen with your Shield Charge. Literally 1 minute clears..
For bosses we will have 9-10 skeletons who will Taunt the boss himself and monsters around as well as Blind them on hit and distract and annoy the hell out of everyone. And they don't need corpses too. And we don't care if they die.. EZ PZ.

[3.7] Zombiemancer - High Survivability - End Game Viable
The goal of this build was to make a pure Zombie build that feels as smooth as possible to map with while at the same time is able to do all content in the game.
You dont have to cast any spells with this build, everything is automated, the only thing you have to do is Shield Charge right into everything, you have enough survivability to tank almost everything.
Zombie Links
The three core supports for your Zombies are Empower, Minion Damage and Melee Physical Damage.
Minion Speed as your fourth support if you want the fastest map clear.
The last one can be Maim, Ruthless or Multistrike. These add about the same amount of dps, so it comes down to what you prefer to use here.
If you have a 6-link, you have enough damage to be able to use an Item Rarity Support for normal mapping.

[3.7] Pure Phys Skeleton/Zombie Necromancer — Easy 1mil+ DPS, SSF & New Player Friendly!
Pros
- The easiest million DPS build you'll ever make. At level 80, with 18/0 gems, almost literally no gear and no PoB trickery, the build reaches 1.04 million Shaper DPS if every minion hits the same target. See for yourself. You do not have to spend currency, you do not have to be good at the game, you really do not have to do anything special. All bosses (up to and including Shaper) just melt. You'll get at least 2 million Shaper DPS if you push the build with a few ex of currency, and over double that while Vaal Summon Skeletons is active.
- Cheap. You can get to red maps very easily on 20 chaos of gear, and do all content comfortably on about 2 ex worth of gear.
- Entirely physical damage, so no issues with high boss elemental resistances.
- Fast movement thanks to Shield Charge and the huge lump of attack speed granted by the Spiritual Command passive node. You're mostly limited by waiting for your minions to kill things, but clear speed is still above average.
- Decently tanky. This build doesn't use auras for damage, so we can go Mind over Matter and get about 8k EHP. Of course you also have an army of minions (22 in the full build) to tank for you, and 10% physical damage reduction courtesy of your zombies.
- No spectres necessary. This build only uses skeletons and zombies, meaning that you don't have to deal with any of the issues spectre builds do when it comes to raising the right mobs at the right level. And if something dies, you can just summon it right back. No dramas.
- Can do all content and all map mods, although phys reflect is a chore and no regen can be a little dangerous.
- Surprisingly good at lab running. See note in 'Playstyle'.
Cons
- Clear speed isn't going to be quite as good as screen-clearing spectres or golems, especially if you don't have Fear jewelry.
- A couple of bosses just melt your minions instantly and are basically impossible for the build. Atziri trio are the worst offenders.
- Have to level as a different build (SRS) unless you have access to twinking gear.

Legion Occultist
[3.7] Konsta's 4-curse Bane + ED CI Occultist starter budget tanky good DPS
- + Cheap, very well suited for league start
- + Cheap to start
- + Huge AOE
- + Good damage
- + Very defensive playstyle possible as spamming is not necessary
- + Huge curse effectiveness with TC and Enfeeble and 10k ES makes the build really tanky
- - Average clear speed due to mediocre movement speed
- - Staff build, not many movement skill options available
- - CI (ES) needs a bit patience and farming before entering mapsPros
The build is utilizing bane as clearing/damage skill and essence drain to boost the damage for bosses. In addition to solid damage, bane offers very nice defensive boost as it applies linked curses.
At the moment I'm lvl 91. The leveling progress has been very smooth, and the 5L bane damage - even with spell cascade - has been carrying the build easily in maps. I decided to link bane with spell cascade and the area is off screening mobs. Chaos explosion from profane bloom and huge AOE makes the build feel super nice to play
Offence
We're using 6L bane as our main damage and clearing skill. We apply 4 curses in total, 2 from bane and 2 from Vixen's Entrapment gloves which trigger automatically when using bane. The bane damage - even with 5L - should be good enough to clear end game maps up to T16. We use spell cascade for map clearing and switch it to controlled destruction when needed (only in guardians and up). Poacher's mark will also give us frenzy charges when mapping, increasing the mapping speed and damage.
In addition to 6L bane, we use 6L ED to boost our single target damage. ED is better than soulrend for us because due to short skill duration soulrend needs investment to duration and cast speed.
Defense
Defensively we're rocking CI with ~265% increased ES, Discipline, Vaal Discipline and of course enfeeble + temporal chains with huge added curse effectiveness. Malediction from ascendancy is further providing us 10% damage reduction, and the occultist ES nodes guarantee a nice chunk of ES and regen.
In total, we're gain following from curses:
-Bosses have 23% decreased action speed (temporal chains)
-Bosses do 35% decreased damage (enfeeble + malediction)
-Bosses have 25% less movement speed (Hinder)
The above is applicable to bosses such as Shaper, normal map mobs are nerfed even further! You can gain additional curse effectiveness by getting some quality to bane.
Imagine that the boss has to run you down (-48% movement speed), then starts attacking (-23% attack speed) and then hits (-35% damage). The curse setup makes the build super safe!

[3.7] CI Occultist Vortex Starter/Endgame Build Guide Tanky Budget All Content +Video
- + Cheap
- + Good map clear
- + Tanky
- + Immune to Stun, Chill and Freeze
- + Can do most of map mods (only expcetion is No Life/ES Regen and Elemental Reflect mods)
- - Using Flame Dash is not the best movement skill but the Quicksilver Flask helps on that.
- - Some endgame items can be more expensive cause Cold Damage Over time builds are a bit hyped.
- - Less recovery rate map mod is not so good.
This build is capable of to do all content with a very cheap gear and there are options for upgrades. I killed all end game bosses with a low budget gear. The build is very strong. I got surprised on how strong it is.
Leveling
The leveling of this build can be a bit complicated because you gotta start using life then you'll be Hybrid (Life + ES) and finally you'll get CI (Chaos Inoculation).
For those who doesn't know how the transition from Life to ES/CI works, that's happening between 60 to 90 points passive trees. For that transition you should get a ES based gear and some respec points. Then you start to remove the points you don't need and put them in the points shown on 90 points tree. Try to get around 4~5k ES using your ES gear before respec and don't forget about your resists. resist cap (75%). Now you should be ready to get CI.
If you like to start using the build skills as soon as possible you can start using Freezing Pulse + Arcane Surge and Added Cold Damage (a bit later) until level 12 and then you can use Arctic Breath (That will not be used at the end but you can use that just for now to see how Cold Damage over Time works). Level 16 you can use Cold Snap (Buy the Vaal Cold Snap).
In the act 2 you can get Herald of Thunder and Herald of Ice if you're confortable with 50% of mana reservation.
For the Cold Snap and Arctic Breath you'll get Controlled Destruction and Elemental Focus. If you have a tabula you can use both skills on it and link Concentrated Effect, Added Cold Damage or Faster Casting
In the act 3, at level 28 you'll get Vortex and replace Arctic Breath. You will also get Hypothermia, Efficacy and Swift Affliction.
If you're using 4 links at this point you should use:
1. Vortex + Efficacy + Controlled Destruction + Elemental Focus or Hyporthermia.
The gem you didn't use above (Elemental Focus or Hypothermia) will be your 5th link and Swift Affliction is your 6th link on Vortex.
2. Cold Snap + Efficacy + Controlled Destructiont or Hypothermia.
In the act 4 you'll swap Controlled Destruction for Bonechill.
After that just go through the acts and follow the gem setups shown in the Skill Gems section.

[3.7] 'The KnightKing' Budget League Starter -> 5+Mill Shaper DPS This Season
- + GGG Gave us fo Free 2 Million Extra DPS and 1k EHP + ES Leech GG!
- + combines Massive DPS with exceptional safety and defensive Strategies
- + Cheap and Accessible Required Unique(s) other than the Shav's which will be pricy this season I think
- + Webbed, Chilled and Shattering enemies everywhere
- + No need for a Golem or a totem (Also no need to remember to cast them)
- + Only Two Activated skills and one is frost bomb which has a duration
- + no need to think about flasks… smash every flask, all the time… Great for Popsicle stick players (Or those with macros setup)
- + Doesn’t run Blasphemy or self-cast curses so no need to kiss the monsters up close
- + customizable curses for each map you enter
- + Budget End Game Gear uniques
- + NOT socket hungry so you can cut out sockets to have Abyssal Sockets
- + Capable of clearing Maps and Bosses really well without any clunky mechanics or weapon swaping, snapshotting, gem swapping or well anything
- + Run Every Phys reflect map you can find
- + No mana issues ever… like you physically will not be able to have mana issues as long as you can channel the skill each second
- + Not flask Dependent – Flasks just bump dps and give you your safe suffixes… but I’ve finished all guardians without flask charges up.
- + offscreen Killing
- + No full passive tree Respec Necessary & Can Level as your Final Build and Skill Set
- + No Enlightened Required
- - You need to understand the basic mechanics of the character, itemization and the game to play this build.. e.g. the importance of resistances, what is LL, how you get to the end game in a chaos mitigation/immune situation, and how to scale damage, particularly in the time leading up to the Shavronne's wrappings.
- - Low Movement Speed… and limited to Flame Dash or Charged Dash for Movement Skills
- - No Life Flasks
- - Ele Reflect maps kill you instantly
- - Zero Leech/No Regen maps are not as fun as you might think (Both are doable)
- - Looking at your offhand… Don’t do it… 6 aura’s to restart, and with no life regen… you won’t be able to without a portal… just don’t unless you travel to town first… make a trip to Oriath so you don’t have to lose them… sadly portal gem in offhand is a total no-no.
- - Channeling Skill which you must stand still to cast

Updated for Patch 3.8
The Best Crafty Guides by Odealo
Estimated budget: low to medium
Guide notes |
September 11, 2019 -Updated for Patch 3.8 |
Blade Flurry Gladiator is one of the most versatile builds in the game. It’s very tanky due to high block chance while maintaining extremely high damage. It’s very efficient at farming maps, eternal Labyrinth and killing bosses. Blade Flurry scales well, because of damage being boosted for each stage reached while channeling, which combined with high physical damage allows you to clear all the endgame content, including both Shaper and Uber Atziri. Investing in unique items like the Belly of the Beast and The Surrender will help you reach this build’s maximum defensive potential.
The full list of our other Path of Exile Crafty Guides can be found here: Odealo's Crafty Guides - Full List
1. Gameplay
Blade Flurry is one of the most satisfying builds in the game. High block chance allows you to tank most hits while you shield charge between packs of monsters obliterating them with Blade Flurry. The most important part of the gameplay is to channel Blade Flurry until it reaches six stacks and then release it for an explosion.

2. Build's PROS & CONS
PROS |
|
CONS |
|
3. Leveling tips
Leveling with Blade Flurry is very easy, because of damage continually being boosted for each stage you reach while channeling. Thanks to this killing packs and bosses go very fast, and the build doesn’t require significant investments during the leveling phase. We recommend using Cleave early on, then replace it with Sunder as soon as you kill Merveil in act 1. After reaching level 28, you can switch to Blade Flurry. Preferably use a one-handed weapon with the highest physical damage you can find and shield in the off-hand slot.
Suggested leveling Gem setups:
Cleave/Sunder setup | |
Cleave - will be the first skill you should be using, and replace it with Sunder as soon as you kill Merveil in Act 1
Sunder - grants better range and good AoE
Added Fire Damage Support - great buff to your DPS
Maim Support - this Gem will increase your damage and maim enemies on hit, which slows their movement speed and increases the damage they take |
Blade Flurry setup | |
Blade Flurry - you should start using Blade Flurry as soon as you hit level 28. Try to use(and level up) as many Support Gems you plan to use later on with this setup. This always makes the transition to your final build much easier
Melee Physical Damage Support - it's the most important Support Gem for this build. Buy it in act 2 as soon as you hit level 18 and use instead of Maim support
Added Fire Damage Support - great buff to your DPS
Concentrated Area of Effect Support - increases all damage by a lot in exchange for reduced Blade Flurry AoE. Can be swapped for Increased Area of Effect Support for clearing wider areas, but it’s mandatory for killing bosses |
Utility Gems | |
Ancestral Warchief - this totem increases your melee damage and deals a lot of damage on its own. It benefits from the Physical/Melee Support Gems (e.g., Faster Attacks, Maim Support)
Punishment - definitely the best curse for this build, which grants you more melee damage and attack speed when you hit cursed enemies. You can start using it at level 24
Herald of Ash - combined with Sunder’s seismic wave it will destroy packs of monsters in no time
Shield Charge - this movement skill, linked with Faster Attacks Support allows you to move through locations much faster |
Bandits:
It's recommended to kill all the Bandits for two additional Passives Points. If you are a high level you may also switch to Alira for extra Crit. Multiplier if you need some additional damage

5. Gear Setup
Blade Flurry is an extremely flexible build. It scales incredibly well with expensive gear and powerful, unique items we have listed. We suggest trying out the end-game version of this build because this is precisely where this build truly shines. Most of the items can be replaced with cheaper alternatives for the leveling/early mapping phase which is included in the following section.
If by any chance you are looking for cheap PoE Currency needed to get all recommended gear, you are at the right place. Simply head over to our Market section accessible via link on top of the page.
Our recommended items will:
- Cap your resistances
- Give you enough DPS/Life to start mapping successfully
- Save you at least a couple of hours on planning your build!
