Holy crap, this is awesome! I love the story about Vecna and Kas, and how the sword of Kas is the only way to permanently destroy the artifacts. The players then immediately ask 'So, where's the Sword of Kas?' And there you go, a free adventure hook. This sword acts as a +5 Longsword as well as has the below ability. Once per day, the wielder can activate the Sword of Vengeance as a full round action. Upon will, the wielder releases the sword, and then the sword disappears. It reappears by the desired enemy and pierces its heart, killing it instantly. Exactly my point, swords are 2x or 3x faster than heavy weapon while doing the same or close the dmg of the heavy weapon making them completely useless, plus i just compared the reach of the heavy weapons and it was actually lower than most swords, so i am guessing the swords are the best weapons in the game? In the World of Greyhawkcampaign setting for the Dungeons & Dragons role-playing game, the Sword of Kas was the mighty blade used by Kas the Bloody-Handed, the dreaded lieutenant of Vecna. It was by this blade, some say, that Vecna lost his Hand and Eye.
The sword, variously described as a short sword, longsword, or greatsword, was crafted by Vecna. The blade is said to have been magically honed to a razor's edge, enhanced the wielder's strength, and could be used to call down lightning bolts from any storm clouds that might be overhead. The sword itself is intelligent, possessing a vile and murderous spirit.

The Sword of Kas first appeared in the Original D&D supplement, Eldritich Wizardry[1]. It was one of the first artifacts detailed for the Dungeons & Dragons game[2]. The sword has been updated many times[3] and has even been the object of quests as in the adventure Vecna Lives[4].
